Aesthetic injections

Aesthetic injections: what are they and what is their purpose

As you age, you get wrinkles on your face. Wrinkles are the result of hyperfunction of the muscles, the force of gravity, the influence of the environment, and the way we sleep. Aesthetic injection treatments successfully reduce wrinkles, but they can also be used to change the shape and position of the eyebrows and the corner of the mouth, slowing down the process of aging. The treatment is also successfully used to change the appearance of the skin and reduce pores and oily skin.

The most popular aesthetic procedures, however, are the reduction of wrinkles in the glabellar region (upper third of the face), the so-called wrinkles 11, wrinkles around the eyes, and wrinkles on the forehead).

Aesthetic therapy planning

When using injections, it is important to understand muscle movements, excessive muscle activity, and the increase of the excessive muscle mass, to analyze facial expressions, observe existing asymmetries and then decide where to inject, considering the depth of injection, amount of material injected and spread into surrounding tissues.

CAUTION: Injections require great expertise because any asymmetry that occurs as a result of inaccurate technique can lead to aesthetically unacceptable expression and difficulty to speak, chew, or swallow.

When to opt for aesthetic treatments with smaller doses of the substance

Sometimes it is a better solution to inject smaller doses of injections to preserve natural muscular movement, especially when laughing – facial expressions must be still present, and not completely disabled.

The result of the therapy is a natural appearance of the face, with mild wrinkles that are still present, but now represent the character and mimics.

When to opt for aesthetic treatments

Those who opt for cosmetic injections aim for one of the following goals:

  • Removal of wrinkles on the upper, middle, and lower part of the face;
  • Shaping and better position of the eyebrows;
  • Increasing eyebrow symmetry;
  • Opening the eye;
  • Lifting the angle of the lips;
  • Tightening the skin around the chin and reducing the chin;
  • Rejuvenation of the neck;
  • Shaping and narrowing the contours of the face;
  • Treatment for bruxism.

Aesthetic treatments of the upper part of the face?

thinker's forehead wrinkles

Frowning wrinkles – Glabellar wrinkles or wrinkles 11

Global wrinkles or wrinkles 11 appear as two deep vertical lines between the eyebrows or as horizontal wrinkles visible across the forehead. They are primarily caused by the constant contraction of the muscles. Wrinkles are a natural sign of aging.

horizontal forehead wrinkles

Horizontal forehead wrinkles – wrinkles of wonder

horizontal are wrinkles that appear above the eyebrows. Hormonal aging associated with menopause causes the body to produce less estrogen which protects the skin. Frowning and exposure to the sun contribute to the development of horizontal wrinkles.

before after smile lines

Eye wrinkles – Laughter wrinkles or crow feet wrinkles

(their shape is like a bird’s footprint and they are called Magpie’s feet) occur when the skin loses collagen and hyaluronic acid. Sun exposure also contributes because the skin around the eyes is particularly thin and does not contain glands that produce oil, so wrinkles develop faster than elsewhere on the face. Prevention of these wrinkles is definitely wearing sunglasses, nourishing, and high-quality products.

Nose wrinkles – Bunny lines

Wrinkles on the nose

Bunny lines appear on the left and right side of the nose intensifying by facial expressions when sniffing or laughing. They can be corrected with a small amount of toxin.

drooping eyelids

The upper part of the eyelid

Sagging eyelids are a direct consequence of aging and give the face a sad look. As we age, the fatty tissue surrounding the eye descends under the eyelids, weakening them aesthetically.

Wrinkles around the lips - Barcode wrinkles

Wrinkles around the lips – Bar code wrinkles

which are treated with small amounts injected in the right places so they don’t compromise vital muscle function.

Upper lip extension – Gummy smile

Upper lip extension – Gummy smile

it refers to a smile that reveals the gingiva. It is caused by the disproportions of the size of the teeth, gingiva, and the upper jaw. The appearance of the upper lip also plays a big role. The application of injections can remodel a smile due to the weakening of the contraction of the power of the muscles that lift the upper lip.

Wrinkles from lip to chin - Puppet wrinkles

Labiomental wrinkle – Marionette wrinkle

extends from the outer edge of the lip towards the chin region. Aesthetic injections can be used to correct the sad and worried look caused by the appearance of the Marionette wrinkles. With the corners of their lips lowered, people look constantly sad and angry. As we age, we lose elastin and collagen. Due to this loss, the skin loses firmness and begins to relax. The corners of the lips go down, and smoking contributes to that. To raise the corners of the mouth the dermal fillers are ideal.

The masticatory muscles - Masseter

Chewing muscles – Masseter

located on the edge of the lower jaw on the left and right, in front of the ears. The treatment is performed by contouring the lower third of the face and the formation of a more feminine, rounded face.

The creation of the soft chin

Beard softening

by applying injections, small irregularities caused by the frequent activity of the chin muscles that lead to the appearance of an orange peel can be easily corrected.

Tightening of the chin and the skin of the chin and neck

Tightening the skin of the chin and neck and strengthening the chin

with a combination of fillers and other treatments we can remove the sagging skin of the lower third of the face and thus remove the so-called appearance of a hamster. That loose skin is the main reason why people look old.

The neck lift – Nefertiti neck

Nefertiti neck lift

refers to the application of injections along the lower jaw performing a non-surgical lifting or lifting of the neck and lower face.

bruxism

Bruxism – Grinding your teeth

is often associated with stress. To most people, bruxism is a habit; it is present in times of great stress or concentration. It increases with alcohol consumption and smoking. The application of injections into the masticatory muscles reduces the intensity of the pressure.

The results of the treatment on the middle and lower part of the face usually last longer than the same in the upper part of the face.

Aesthetic treatments at the Cukon Dental Clinic

Before starting any treatment for improving facial aesthetics, a preliminary visit is essential, it will allow us to focus on the important features:

  • Facial morphology;
  • Facial expressions;
  • Aesthetic aspects that can be improved with the treatment;
  • Expectations of the patient.

To reduce the risk of swelling and redness, ice should be applied to the injected areas. It is important not to take aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs a week before and after the injection. The effect of the treatment usually lasts 3-6 months and then slowly disappears.

Patients notice clinical effects 1-3 days after injection but the maximum effect occurs 1-2 weeks after the therapy.

Contraindications

Aesthetic injections are absolutely not allowed in the presence of inflammation or infection of the area where we want to apply it, or if the patient has a high risk of allergy to any of the ingredients of the drug formula.

We never use fillers on pregnant or breastfeeding women.

PLEASE NOTE: It is important to emphasize that the result of injections is not a permanent solution. But if the patient repeats the treatment regularly, he will have fewer problems with wrinkles. After the treatment, the face looks relaxed, fresh, and natural.

At Cukon Dental Clinic, we believe in the importance of an individual and personalized approach that considers not only the wishes of the patient but also the shape and symmetry of the face.

There are no side effects and the patients can return to their daily habits immediately after the treatment.
